George W. Miner Memorial Trophy

The George W. Miner Memorial Trophy will be awarded annually to the winning team in the 2800 pound and under class of the Draft Oxen Pull. The trophy is presented by the family of George W. Miner, a lifelong North Stonington resident and long-time Fair Committee member. For more than 30 years, he was an active member of the Fair's Grounds committee and during that time, George built many of the drags used in the pulling contests. A particular fan of the ox pull, he could always be found ringside with his family on Saturday nights during the Fair.
